This Yankee Doodle Vega turns heads everywhere, the seller says. So does an '85 LTD with a bad muffler, but we're not willing to throw down $7,500 for the attention. Yes, that's what the Sykesville, Maryland owner is asking for the ride.
In the car's defense, it has some things going for it -- seller says it's got a 400-horse 350 under the hood and a 12-bolt posi. Should get a light car down the road, even one with several pounds of vinyl wrap graphics stolen from an Army recruiting office. But I think we're willing to rule that the Rumblenote top price for a Vega is $4,000, and only then if it has $6,000 worth of parts to salvage before we ditch the body at the scrap yard. The Vega was Chevrolet's entry in the ugly battle against the Ford Maverick. We think it won.
